Archive Your Systems
系統歸檔

The beginning of a year is the right time to archive your systems.  In the case of ET6.1 or GL4.1, it means both programs and data -- the complete set that can be re-activated anywhere, anytime.

Just copy the whole structure from the torus folder to (1) another folder of the same disk drive, (2) another disk drive, or (3) a DVD or BD.  

Options 1 and 2 provide you the opportunity of browsing archived data instantly. All you need is to create a desktop icon targeting this data set. For option 3, you need to copy the read-only data from CD to a disk drive before you can browse the data.

Torus system archiving is easy, but is very important. Remember to do it before the holidays.

在舊時代, 用過的檔案必須依分類歸檔, 一者為資料保留, 二者為日後查詢. 這是個經年累月的繁複作業. 反之, Torus -- 不管是 ET6.1 或 GL4.1 -- 的歸檔極為簡單. 你不必做太多事前準備, 直接將 整個 torus 資料夾抄到 (1) 同一硬碟的另一個位置, (2) 另外一台硬碟, 或 (3) DVD 或 BD.

在 (1) 和 (2) 的情況下, 只要在桌面針對歸檔資料夾做一個捷徑, 即可立刻查詢歸檔資料. . 在情況 (3), 你得先將唯讀資料由 CD 抄至硬碟, 才能查看歸檔資料.

Torus 的系統歸檔非常完整, 但作業簡易. 歸檔極為重要, 記得在假期之前至少做好一套.
