Introduction
Thanks for using Torus Export Trade System v6.1. Welcome aboard.
Trading business starts with collecting data. To establish a comprehensive ET6.1 system, basic data files come first. We suggest that you begin with supplier data, followed by product and supply. Use the Supplier->Data Entry under menu Basic Files to key in supplier information. Next, use Product->Data Entry to key in product and supply data. You can take advantage of Windows multitasking capability and run these two programs simultaneously, so as to switch between them.
Now you can enter the customer data. There are other files under Basic Files menu, which you can use as needs arise. If a product is made up of two or more parts, use BOM & Parts to create parts data and bill of materials data. For customers' product information, use Customer Item Number to key in data.
With the data mentioned above, you can start to quote, take orders and place orders. Before shipment, it is probably necessary to enter letter of credit information. To send samples, you will need sample invoices. And possibly you also need to place sample orders beforehand.
Correspondence is available for writing faxes and letters, including sending, printing and e-mailing.
Shipment Control provides facilities for the creation of shipping documents. Once shipments are done, offsetting will update the outstanding order data. In the meantime, you also get reports on the profits.
Lastly, there are statistical reports for customers, suppliers, products, employees and countries. All statistics use Excel pivot tables. This is an advanced dynamic data analyzer. It will be well worth your time to make good use of it.
